On April 26, 2022, the EEC Board adopted a draft decision of the EEC Council on amendments to TR CU 004/2011 ”On the safety of low-voltage equipment”.
According to the draft, the following changes were introduced:
- Changes have been made to the existing definitions and new ones have been added. For example, ”Low-voltage equipment” is now considered to be any electrical equipment that has a rated voltage at all inputs and outputs that does not exceed 1000 VAC and 1500 VDC. Amendments have been made to the definition of ”Used low-voltage equipment”, ”Household equipment” and some others.
- The list of products to which this technical regulation does not apply has been supplemented. According to this list, when confirming compliance, it is necessary to understand whether the products are an integral part and further sale of products on the territory of the EAEU countries. In addition, cables, wires and cords that are not included in the exceptions under the TR CU are designated as a separate item.
- Adjustments have been made to Appendix 1 (List of equipment subject to certification).
According to the changes, paragraphs 8 and 9 (Devices for the distribution of electrical energy, electrical devices for the control of electrical installations) were removed, clarifications were made regarding devices working in conjunction with computers and additional devices.
